Governor, State Minister discuss steps for socio-economic uplift
KARACHI, Oct 15 (APP):Minister of State for Interior Shahryar Khan Afridi and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail discussed in
detail law and order, promotion of socio-economic and cultural activities and other important matters.
The minister, during his meeting with the Governor at the Governor House here, said coordinated and effective measures are being taken to
ensure conducive environment for investment, adding that the federal government is taking steps for the prosperity and development of the
province and for further enhancing economic activities, said a statement issued here on Monday.
On the occasion, the Sindh Governor said after the restoration of peace in Karachi, trade, socio-economic an political activities are witnessing an upward trend.
He said the present government will ensure all-out cooperation and assistance to investors, adding that the government's steps to
provide a conducive environment for investment would prove beneficial.
French Ambassador meets Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 :French Ambassador to Pakistan, Dr. Marc Barety has called on Minister of State for Interior,
Shehryar Khan Afridi and discussed matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation and regional security situation.
Talking to the Ambassador, the Minister said there exist historic relations between Pakistan and France.
He said terrorism has affected the entire world and armed forces of Pakistan have played a key role in restoration of peace and security.
The Minister said Pakistan offers numerous opportunities in tourism sector.
The French Ambassador applauded Pakistan's efforts against terrorism and acknowledged civil and military sacrifices offered by nation in that regard.
He expressed desire to have long-term cooperation with Pakistan in war against terror and highlighted importance of collective efforts against terrorism.
Both sides had a very rewarding meeting and agreed to further improve relations and explore more areas to enhance cooperation in other areas as well.
No compromise to be made on national interests, security: Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD, Oct 9 (APP):Minister of State for Interior, Shehryar Khan Afridi on Tuesday
said that no compromise would be made on national interests and security.
He was talking to a delegation of European Union led by its ambassador on Tuesday,
a press release issued here said.
The minister said that no one would be allowed to get involved in activities against the state
and added that security of the lives and assets of Pakistani citizens would be ensured.
The minister said that the government would ensure the supremacy of law. He said Pakistan armed forces
had rendered unprecedented sacrifices in the war against terror adding that before
Afghan war Pakistan was on the path of progress.
The EU ambassador appreciated Pakistan's efforts and success in the war against terror.
Commandant FC meets Shehryar Afridi
ISLAMABAD, Oct 4 (APP):Commandant Frontier Constabulary (FC), Moazzam Jah Ansari Thursday met with Minister of
State for Interior, Shehryar Khan Afridi and discussed professional matters.
Talking to the newly appointed Commandant, the minister said FC has been playing a key role in peace and security.
He said the government was seriously considering to further strengthening the force.
